Our story

A real family business with a love for seafood. Generation to generation, the fourth already. It's in the blood of the family Simonis, it flows trough their veins. What is started as an eel smokehouse on the end of the 19th century now has grown to multiple locations on the area of seafood. Family Simonis has a passion for seafood, shares the passion for seafood and anything that has to do with it.


Encore is the latest restaurant of Simonis. Located in the old fish auction hall of Scheveningen. The restaurant has a capacity up to 300 chairs, a terrace of 250 and an private event space with a maximum capacity of 500. People can come to us for a lunch, dinner, a drink or event. For us Encore is more then just top quality food and drinks, we also focus on service and experience. An evening out.
